Alright friends, it’s time once again for me to bore you with my real life! This one’s going to be a fun one, too. I’ve talked about my obsession with makeup, stress relief, and my crazy habits so far. How about more personal insight? Let’s get started, shall we?
My full name is Rachel Irene Fletcher. I live in Northern California about an hour north of Sacramento – the state capital. I live in a two bedroom, two bath apartment with my boyfriend Josh and our pets (which I believe I’ve already shared, if not whoops). I’m a bit of a clean freak, so I’m obsessive about keeping my apartment tidy and smelling good. Good lord, if my house doesn’t smell nice I panic. I pride myself on a clean kitchen with lots of food 90% of the time. It’s a feat for me to have a nice home, considering I’m doing this 50% on my own at 20 years old.
Yes, you read that right. I’m 20. I’ll be 21 on August 30th of this year. I’m beyond excited to be able to (legally… lol) party with my friends. AND PLAY CARDS.
I’m sure some of you guys are thinking “What? Play cards? Why?” Well, you see… I deal cards for a living. I’m a blackjack dealer at an Indian casino nearby. It’s a really interesting job. It’s fun and sometimes a little stressful. My coworkers are great, and the management of my department is incredibly understanding and supportive.
When I’m not at work, a lot of the time I’m at home writing or going to school. I’m an aspiring YA author, and I’m also getting my bachelor’s degree through Southern New Hampshire University in Creative Writing. It’s been a lot of work getting my degree and working 40 hours a week at the same time, but I know it will be worth it if I survive the process.
I’m overly obsessed with my mini schnauzer, Ellie. She’s my fur-child and I annoy everyone with my love for her. She was my anniversary present last year from my boyfriend, Josh. He took me to pick out a puppy and I fell in love with her tiny little nub of a tail and her soft white fur instantly. She’s incredibly well behaved and super sweet. She likes to talk when you encourage her. She loves playing with other dogs and going on adventures.
